Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Utility Plant Operator 2 to help operate boilers and related equipment at Torrance State Hospital. You will oversee plant operations on the 2nd shift, coordinate with staff, and maintain essential documentation while adhering to safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 or equivalent.
• One year of semi-skilled work in operation/maintenance/repair of utility plant systems.
• Equivalents combining experience and training including six months of semi-skilled work.

Responsibilities

• Operate boilers and auxiliary equipment to maintain heat and hot water.
• Direct plant staff, assign work, and support shift operations.
• Conduct checks of equipment, document readings, and report abnormalities to supervisors.
• Maintain boiler water levels and perform daily chemical testing and treatment.
• Enter readings, complete maintenance work orders, and keep shift logs.
• Uphold safety policies, regulations, and procedures in the power house.
