Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Utility Plant Operator 2 to operate boilers and related equipment at Torrance State Hospital. You will help ensure continuous heat and hot water throughout the facility and support safe plant operations.

You will oversee shift duties, monitor equipment, document readings, and perform daily water treatment and maintenance tasks. This role requires attention to safety policies, accurate record keeping, and teamwork on the 2nd shift (2:30 PM – 10:30 PM).

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 or equivalent semi-skilled work in operating, maintaining, or repairing utility plant systems.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training may be accepted.
• Must meet residency requirements and be able to perform essential job functions.

• Operate boilers and auxiliary equipment to maintain heat and hot water across the facility.
• Direct plant staff, assign work, and support smooth shift operations.
