Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA, seeks a Boiler Operator to operate and maintain boilers and related equipment essential for hospital steam, heat, and power.

You will monitor meters, start/stop boilers, test water, prepare for inspections, and perform preventive maintenance while complying with safety and DOH guidelines.

The role may require night shifts and on-call duties as part of hospital engineering operations. Experience with Building Automation Systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant boiler operations experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains multiple high pressure boilers; observes meters and gauges; takes action for safe operation.
• Starts, stops, and online/offline boilers to maintain steam pressure and economic operation.
• Tests boiler water, feed water, and condensate; controls chemicals and blowdown to maintain tolerances.
• Prepares boilers for inspection; disassembles and cleans water and fire sides; tests and inspects safety valves; ensures combustion guidelines.
