We are seeking a Lead BMS Engineer to join our team in Houston, advancing Battery Management Systems for high‑voltage packs. You will lead architecture, software development, validation, and field testing, aligning with technology roadmaps and safety standards.

You will collaborate with global teams, mentor engineers, and drive model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink. Strong English communication and leadership are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years in large, high-voltage battery pack development from concept through commercialization.
• 3+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
• Experience developing and verifying Battery Management Systems (BMS) for high-voltage battery packs.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety and ISO 21434 Cybersecurity.
• MATLAB/Simulink for model-based control development and simulations.
• CAN communication protocols SAE J1939 and CAN 2.0B.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, APQP, and V-Model.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Excellent teamwork and communication; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and cross-functional BMS engineering activities across architecture, software, validation, and release management.
• Collaborate with global BMS teams to define architecture and requirements for safety, cybersecurity, and innovative solutions.
• Manage BMS application software development plans, milestones, budgets, and schedules.
• Mentor and lead BMS software, hardware, and validation teams while building technical capabilities.
• Ensure BMS integration with battery packs and external interfaces (vehicle control units, data loggers).
• Develop and maintain best practices for model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink with interdisciplinary teams.
• Guide design, implementation, and testing of control algorithms and SOC/SOE/SOH estimation methods.
• Lead ML models for field failure prediction and battery health analysis.
• Support product commissioning both remotely and on-site, and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
