Job summary

Microvast is seeking a BESS BMS software engineer to join our team in Houston, TX. The role focuses on developing software architectures for battery management systems and model‑based function development using MATLAB/Simulink.

The candidate will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize application‑layer software, improve development processes and validate BMS software for shipping products. A 3+ year HV battery/BMS background is required, with MISRA testing and CI experience

Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Computer Science.
Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink and Embedded C.
Experience with automated software testing (MISRA) and continuous integration (Jenkins).
3+ years of professional experience with high‑voltage batteries and BMS.
Preferred: Automotive SPICE and ISO 26262 experience.

Responsibilities

Develop software architectures for battery management systems (BMS).
Model‑based function development using MATLAB/Simulink with an interdisciplinary team.
Develop, optimize and calibrate application‑layer software for local applications.
Advance software development processes and evaluate new technologies.
Validate and test BMS software and support product commissioning.
