Job summary

Ceribell, Inc. is seeking a talented data scientist/algorithm engineer to advance biomedical EEG-based neurology classification. You will design state-of-the-art time-series classifiers for neurological indications and work with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a PhD and 7+ years of experience in signal processing, ML, and clinical data. You will mentor juniors, ensure regulatory validation, and stay at the cutting edge of neurodiagnostics.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent.
• 7+ years of research/industry experience in signal processing, time-series analysis, ML and algorithm development.
• Proficient in Python and/or Matlab and/or R.
• Experience with biological signal processing and biomedical applications.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented and collaborative mindset.
• Experience with large-scale biomedical datasets and handling noisy/imbalanced data.

Responsibilities

• Design classification algorithms for neurological indications using time-series analysis and ML.
• Analyze data trends and patterns and communicate results with clear objectives.
• Collaborate with business and clinical stakeholders to define project needs and communicate results.
• Select and implement evaluation metrics balancing technical accuracy and clinical relevance.
• Document and validate models to comply with regulatory requirements for medical device algorithms.
• Mentor junior data scientists and interns, providing technical direction and feedback.
• Manage multiple projects independently and prioritize tasks to meet milestones.
• Stay updated with ML and neurodiagnostics advancements to keep algorithms state-of-the-art.
