Job summary

RR Donnelley in Durham, NC is seeking a Printing and Bindery Specialist to set up, adjust, and operate binding machines, inspect equipment, and coordinate production with the crew. You will closely monitor quality, safety, and output while guiding a team through complex binding workflows.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on bindery expertise, the ability to read and interpret complex instructions, and a track record of maintaining equipment in peak condition.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of setup, adjustment, and operation of bindery equipment to produce finished products.
• Knowledge of paper weights, sizes, colors to adjust machines.
• Ability to use standard and specialized tools to maintain bindery equipment
• Skill in using hand tools and machine tools from manufacturer
• Skill in operating bindery equipment such as folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing
• Ability to read and interpret written work indicating machine operations

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines
• Inspect equipment for safety issues
• Operate automatic adhesive binding machines and manage stations
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine
• Direct crew through all aspects of production
• Monitor quality, output and productivity
