Lakeside Book Company in Crawfordsville, IN is seeking a Lead Bindery Operator to set up, adjust and run a range of bindery equipment, including cutters, folders, collators and glue lines. You will inspect equipment for safety and coordinate multiple workstations to deliver high-quality printed materials.

The role includes directing a crew, monitoring quality and productivity, and performing routine machine adjustments.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of bindery setup and operation.
• Ability to read work orders and coordinate machine operations.
• Knowledge of paper weights, sizes, and colors for proper adjustments.
• Experience with adjusting and maintaining bindery equipment.
• Skill operating folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing machines.
• Ability to read and interpret written work orders for dimensional accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate bindery equipment, including finishing units.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and ensure safe operation.
• Operate adhesive binding machines and related stations as required.
• Coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine to optimize throughput.
• Direct crew and monitor quality, output and productivity.
