Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, business administration, accounting, or a related field and two years of experience as an Eligibility or other Social Services Benefits Worker.
• Experience determining eligibility for SNAP, TANF, Families and Children Medicaid, and/or Aged/Blind/Disabled Medicaid.
• Ability to work with federal, state, and local policies and complex intake procedures.
• Leadership capabilities to support staff development and serve as a lead worker.

Responsibilities

• Determine eligibility for eligibility benefit programs through face-to-face interviews and assessment.
• Provide guidance in crisis situations and help customers pursue available services.
• Document case findings and verify eligibility factors across multiple computer systems.
• Lead unit tasks, train new staff, and present to community groups when needed.
• Schedule activities, manage caseloads, and meet deadlines with accuracy.
