Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Lead Behavioral Health Technician for its Detox and Residential Treatment Facility in Fort Wayne, IN. The role oversees daily residential operations and leads the BHT team to maintain a supportive recovery environment.

The successful candidate demonstrates strong leadership, empathy, and the ability to set clear boundaries while upholding recovery principles within a compliant workplace.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Warm, empathetic personality with ability to set firm boundaries.
• Dignified, honest character which models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily residential operations (intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, medications, etc.).
• Train and support BHT team in all operations and responsibilities.
• Escalate any concerns or crises to Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
• Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm and positive recovery environment.
• Ensure client and BHT compliance with all Avenues rules, policies and procedures.
