Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician for its new inpatient detox and residential facility in Richmond, VA. You will manage daily residential operations, supervise the BHT team, and support client engagement to maintain a positive recovery environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR and a valid driver’s license are preferred, and sobriety duration may be required if in recovery. Join our supportive team and contribute to evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, empathetic personality with ability to set firm boundaries.
• Dignified, honest character which models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily residential operations (intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, medications).
• Train and support BHT team in all operations and responsibilities.
• Escalate concerns to Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
• Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm recovery environment.
• Ensure client and BHT compliance with all rules, policies, and procedures.
