Job summary

Caterpillar's Battery Systems team in Mossville, IL is looking for an experienced Battery Systems Technical Lead to own battery programs from customer need to production. You will define requirements with the customer, make key architecture and sourcing decisions, and lead a cross-functional team through design freeze, certification, and launch.

You will work with suppliers, manufacturing, and commercial partners to balance technical tradeoffs with business impact, develop scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field is required.
• deep knowledge of battery cells, modules, packs, BDUs and BMS is required.
• Experience leading cross-functional battery programs from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead battery programs from concept through design freeze, certification, and production launch.
• Gather customer requirements and define development loops using corporate tools.
• Lead architecture, sourcing, and make-buy decisions and build consensus.
• Engage with cell, module, and pack suppliers and review designs ahead of freeze.
• Partner with Battery Performance & Validation for performance testing.
• Develop scalable battery architectures reusable across Caterpillar platforms.
• Develop project R&D and material estimates and resource plans.
• Summarize risks and propose improvements with internal/external partners.
