Job summary

Orsted Asia Pacific is seeking a lead electrical engineer to drive specialized activities for battery energy storage system projects across development, construction, and operations. You will shape system design, SCADA and energy management system integration, grid compliance, and ongoing improvements to strengthen asset performance.

You will collaborate with development, construction, operations, procurement, and OT teams, work with contractors and vendors, and ensure technical excellence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Strong electrical engineering knowledge and experience with BESS SCADA design.
• Understanding inverter-based resource requirements and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to travel within the Americas and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead preliminary design, optimization, technology selection, sizing, augmentation planning, and lifecycle modeling of BESS.
• Serve as a technical resource for BESS projects from development through commercial operation, focusing on SCADA, automation, and EMS integration.
• Ensure robust integration with grid requirements, BESS controls, SCADA/EMS, and utility interfaces.
• Support project delivery through design reviews, site visits, meetings, root cause analysis, remediation, and compliance reviews.
• Lead cost estimates and support EPC and integrator procurement activities, including specs, evaluations, design reviews, and negotiations.
• Collaborate across internal teams, contractors, and vendors to clarify technical requirements, manage risk, improve reliability, and deliver practical engineering solutions.
