Tenaska, Inc. in Omaha, NE is seeking a Manager Project Engineering for Battery Energy Storage. You will oversee technical support for development, design, and construction of multiple large-scale BESS projects, with potential work on solar, wind, and natural gas systems.

This role requires strong engineering leadership, site assessments, cost estimation, and coordination with management, sales, and environmental teams. Domestic travel to project sites and counterparty offices will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least five years in power sector and/or project engineering roles.
• Experience with battery, solar, or wind power projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with analytical mindset.
• Proactive problem-solver.
• Strong work ethic, organized, and team-oriented.
• Commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering design of battery energy storage projects, including: facility configuration and layout.
• Identify project sites and assess technical feasibility.
• Support evaluation of battery energy storage technologies.
• Define scope and schedule of development tasks; oversee external consultants.
• Prepare technical risk assessments.
• Develop capital and O&M cost estimates.
• Provide technical support for proposals and negotiations.
• Maintain organized project deliverables.
• Identify innovative solutions to maximize performance and minimize cost.
• Support procurement and construction engineering.
• Travel to project sites as required.
