Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in high-volume craft bars/restaurants.
• Must be 21 years of age or older to serve alcohol.
• Passion for creating memorable hospitality experiences.
• Knowledge and passion for wine and beer; interest in craft cocktails.
• Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle money.
• Willing to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and move about the bar area.

Responsibilities

• Provide bartender services as assigned.
• Maintain quality and accuracy of the beverage menu.
• Stay informed about beverage trends and seasonal ingredients.
• Lead by example to motivate bar staff.
• Deliver friendly, attentive service and greet guests.
• Manage bar tabs and settle transactions.
• Prepare, assemble, and present beverages efficiently.
• Maintain glassware, garnishes, and bar setup.
• Open and close bar operations as required.
• Perform sidework and follow opening/closing procedures.

Job description

Position Overview

The Lead Bartender will work with Stoked Pizza management to maintain and grow a creative beverage program in order to achieve customer satisfaction and increase beverage sales. In addition, the Lead Bartender will greet and serve guests with superior product knowledge and create a warm and accommodating atmosphere while maintaining proper preparation and efficient execution of all beverage products. The Lead Bartender has no supervisory responsibility but is responsible for serving as staff Shift Lead motivating bar and wait staff to maximize quality of service and positive staff energy.

Essential Functions, Skills and Knowledge

• Provide all bartender services as assigned
• Maintain integrity of beverage menu through constant quality control
• Stay active and knowledgeable about industry/beverage trends and seasonal ingredients
• Lead by example to motivate the bar team to learn more and refine skills
• Nurture an atmosphere conducive to creating repeat customers and regular clientele
• Promote the Stoked Pizza brand
• Maintain a clean and presentable appearance
• Accurately perform weekly inventory of beer, wine, and liquor
• Prompt greeting & accommodation of bar guests
• Accurate & expedited assembly of beverage orders
• Accurate settling / transferring of bar tabs
• Provide beverage service to guests standing & awaiting seating
• Delivery of Beverage products (when available)
• Proper cleaning, organizing, set up of glassware/ garnish /barware
• Maintaining proper mixer par-levels (juicing/prep-work)
• Accepting phone calls/ take-out orders
• Monitoring / adjusting music selection (playlist) & volume
• Collect & administer proper cash out paperwork & nightly deposits
• Open bar and/or shut down & lock-up as needed
• Perform all required sidework, including but not limited to following all opening and closing procedures

Requirements

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

• Minimum of (3) years of experience in high volume craft bars/restaurants strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
• Must have a passion for creating memorable hospitality experiences
• Knowledge and passion for wine & beer. Understanding and passion for craft cocktails & spirits
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
• Possess knowledge of food preparation techniques, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
• Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money
• Must be familiar with common and classic drink recipes, and desire to learn new recipes
• Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule including evenings, nights, and weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• Ability to move around during entire shift
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests
• Must have a valid alcohol awareness certification or be capable of obtaining certification
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.

Work Environment

This position operates in a bar and restaurant environment where alcohol is served. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds with help and/or assistance.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a bar/hospitality position, and as such will require both weekday and weekend/evening hours, as scheduled by management based on the needs of the operation and business.

Travel

This job requires no significant travel to locations other than Stoked Pizza premises and local shops.
