Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. is seeking a Lead Barista for Salish Lodge & Spa in Snoqualmie, WA. You will prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, greet guests, and provide product recommendations in a fast-paced kitchen and coffee bar environment.

The role requires prior café or beverage experience, leadership capabilities, and barista training. You will support inventory control and maintain cleanliness, while delivering exceptional hospitality aligned with our values.

Qualifications

• Prior café, coffee, or food & beverage experience required.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Barista certification or completion of formal coffee/espresso training preferred.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation, brewing techniques, and beverage presentation is a plus.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
• Basic math skills required for accurate money handling.
• Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems for order taking and cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks according to standards.
• Greet guests warmly, take orders, and provide product recommendations.
• Operate coffee and espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including beverage stations, counters, and dining areas.
• Handle cash, credit, and digital payment transactions accurately; open and close registers as necessary.
• Monitor inventory and create pars efficiently; keep track of invoices, food waste and pars.
• Restock coffee bar and serving stations with necessary amenities.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Provide training for baristas, delegate tasks, coach, and hold staff accountable to standards.
• Address guest questions, concerns, and special requests promptly and professionally.
• Place orders for bar back stock.
• Send daily recap email to Retail Manager
• Responsible for updating signage and seasonal beverage menu
• Make sandwiches and bake items during designated time slots
• Follow all opening and closing procedures
• Other tasks as assigned
