Farmer’s Fridge is seeking a Lead Back-End Engineer to drive end-to-end projects, design scalable back-end systems on the Fridge platform, and mentor teammates. The role sits on the Fridge back end, integrating with hardware and firmware in Linux environments, with opportunities to shape AI tooling.

You should have 10+ years of software experience, strong Go or equivalent language skills, AWS familiarity, and a passion for owning outcomes in a hybrid Chicago-area team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Go or equivalent language expertise.
• Experience integrating with hardware and firmware in Linux environments.
• Experience with AWS and cloud services.
• Comfort with using LLMs to enhance development.

Responsibilities

• Own projects end-to-end from design to deployment.
• Lead architecture discussions and participate in reviews.
