Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the Consumer and Community Banking technology -Deposits Platform to lead resiliency and DR efforts across the product portfolio.

The role involves cross-team collaboration, development of failover frameworks, and integration of AI-assisted development practices to improve code quality and security, in a secure, scalable cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• 5+ years of experience in system design, development, testing, and operations.
• Experience with AWS cloud architectures and DR services.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash and IaC tools (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• 5+ years in SRE, Disaster Recovery Planning, or Distributed Systems Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of AI-assisted software development tools with alignment on correctness, performance and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, data sensitivity, and secure handling.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Experience with enterprise tools and automation in software development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end DR tests and real-time failover events across all applications.
• Develop resiliency frameworks for automated product offerings and repeatable patterns.
• Define and monitor RTO and RPO for all components and track gaps.
• Automate disaster recovery provisioning, scaling, configuration, and monitoring using IaC tools.
• Drive resiliency testing scenarios and chaos engineering with AWS FIS and Resilience Hub.
• Partner with SREs to build detection capabilities and proactive CloudWatch alerts.
• Establish and execute DR playbooks and recovery runbooks with dependency mapping.
• Collect, govern, and report DR test artifacts and resilience maturity scores for audits.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and security.
