Job summary

Vast seeks an Avionics Design Reliability Engineer to guide the design, verification, and validation of Haven‑1, the world’s first commercial human‑rated space station. This full‑time exempt role reports to the Sr. Manager of Design Reliability in Long Beach, CA.

The engineer will lead avionics, RF, and power system design efforts, drive design reviews, and ensure qualification and test campaigns meet rigorous standards for safe, reliable spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant engineering field.
• 6+ years of professional work in responsible engineering, design ownership, systems integration or reliability-focused development.
• Experience on aerospace hardware or human-rated systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Guide design of avionics, RF, and power systems for a large-scale space station.
• Lead technical reviews and ensure test campaigns are robust and well-documented.
• Own design maturity, verification, and qualification activities across flight, launch, and ground support.
