Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a senior electrical engineer to lead analog instrumentation and actuator circuit design for environmental and combustion measurements in rocket propulsion systems. You will own circuit development, testing, and troubleshooting across the product life cycle, and mentor junior engineers.

You will apply fault analysis, DFx, and FMECA in avionics subsystems, manage design schedules, and ensure robust signal integrity and power conversion across hardware.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 7 years of professional experience, including 5+ years in electronics hardware development.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership guiding project teams and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Hands-on experience with analog and digital circuit design, analysis, testing, and debugging.
  • Expert knowledge of Op-Amp circuits as used in instrumentation measurements, including scaling and active filters.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power conversion, grounding, and board layout principles.
  • Experience with electric motor drive circuits (EMA) is a valuable asset.
  • Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with data anomaly review and system troubleshooting in a lab or test environment.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical design of analog instrumentation measurement circuits for environmental and combustion conditions.
  • Electrical design of actuator circuits for solenoids or electromechanical servos.
  • Interpret systems engineering and quality requirements for electrical product development.
  • Develop circuits, boards, and rugged electronic hardware across the product life-cycle; from concept to release.
  • Support FMECA, DFx, and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
  • Manage design schedules of avionics subsystems.
  • Routinely present program status and issues.
  • Identify root causes using fault tree and fishbone methodologies.
