Job summary

Phoenix East Aviation dba APMI is seeking a Lead Aviation Maintenance Instructor to carry a regular teaching load across General, Airframe and Powerplant subjects. You will coordinate daily instructional activities, maintain current teaching materials, and prepare training aids for instruction.

You will also oversee instructor schedules, mentor students, and ensure safety and compliance while supporting startup activities for new locations.

Qualifications

FAA A&P certificate required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
FAA Inspection Authorization preferred.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience instructing is beneficial.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word/PowerPoint) preferred.

Responsibilities

Carry a regular teaching load and provide classroom and lab instruction in assigned subjects.
Prepare and coordinate instructor schedules and class assignments for approval.
Serve as the first point of contact for routine student concerns.
Mentor students on technical skills and coordinate guest speakers.
Maintain current teaching materials and ensure up-to-date course outlines.
Prepare training aids and equipment for instruction and coordinate maintenance.
Oversee lab supplies and order materials to prevent delays.
Reinforce safety, tool control, and housekeeping standards.
Monitor night shift records and ensure timely grading and attendance.
