Job summary

Pep Boys in Stockton, CA is seeking a Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a shop team, and deliver superior service by educating customers on problems and proposed solutions. The role requires 3+ years of automotive diagnosis and repair, 4+ ASE certifications preferred, Section 609 certification, and a valid driver's license.

You will mentor colleagues, keep management informed of issues, and maintain a safe, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers or staff.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians in performing tests and repairs.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies through formal training.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop and keep management informed of repair issues.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
• Support team to enhance customer care and satisfaction.
