Job summary

Pep Boys in Raleigh, NC seeks a skilled Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and mentor a shop team. You’ll educate customers on problems and solutions, uphold safety standards, and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.

A positive, customer-focused attitude and strong teamwork are essential. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of diagnostic experience, ASE certifications, and valid driver's license, plus the ability to work

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4 or more ASE certifications preferred (A4 + A5, plus 2 from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pre-employment background check completed.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals as required.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
