Job summary

Pep Boys Inc is seeking a Customer Service Lead to drive exceptional customer experiences and serve as the on-site leader when management is unavailable. The CSL combines customer focus with leadership to mentor team members, ensure safety/compliance, and support daily service center operations.

The role emphasizes advanced customer service, product knowledge, and hands-on supervision, including opening/closing responsibilities and coordinating with technicians to improve service and retention.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of service industry experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive service, maintenance and parts.
• Strong understanding of service center operations and safety standards.
• Advanced communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced Customer Service Advisor duties and mentor team.
• Serve as SME on products, services, systems, and shop procedures.
• Act as key holder: open/close the service center and cash/security procedures.
• Lead on duty when the Service Center Manager is not present.
• Mentor, train, and onboard Customer Service Advisors; share best practices.
• Assist with interviewing and evaluating candidates; provide feedback for team development.
• Collaborate with technicians and management to ensure efficient, customer-focused service and drive sales.
• Promote safety, compliance, and a collaborative work environment.
