Job summary

Leggett & Platt Incorporated is seeking a Team Leader Manufacturing Engineering to lead and coordinate activities of Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and machine assemblers, driving safe and efficient production. This role provides technical leadership for automation systems, PLCs, robotics, and machine vision, and focuses on troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and coaching technicians.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
5+ years of technical manufacturing experience.
Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and docs.
Strong root-cause problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate daily activities of Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and/or machine assemblers.
Provide technical leadership for manufacturing equipment, automation, controls, robotics, and vision systems.
Coordinate equipment installation, startup, validation, and improvement projects.
Assign and prioritize technician workload for safe, timely execution.
Develop technician capability through coaching, mentoring, and training.
Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring issues.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and housekeeping standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve performance, reliability, productivity, and process capability.
