Job summary

Leggett & Platt Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering in Carthage, MO to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering organization across machinery development, automation, and manufacturing readiness.

You will drive standardization, disruptive process improvements, and capital project execution while partnering with Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing. The role requires 12–15+ years in manufacturing engineering with strong leadership, Lean/TPM experience, and robust project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 12–15+ years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Proven success leading engineering teams and launch readiness activities.
• Strong project/program management with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering organization.
• Establish engineering standards, documentation, and project discipline.
• Oversee transition from product development to stable manufacturing.
• Drive Lean, TPM, SPC, and root-cause problem solving across sites.
• Lead capital projects with scheduling, cost control, and ROI focus.
