Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. in the United States seeks an Automation Technician III to inspect, test, and repair automation devices and systems. You will diagnose malfunctions, perform maintenance, and coach other technicians to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of automation experience, a engineering degree, and strong communication skills with familiarity in HVAC control systems. This role involves direct customer interaction and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight (8) years of direct automation experience with control systems and programming required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
• Working knowledge of at least three HVAC controls systems (Delta, JCI or Andover).
• Ability to interface with customers at a supervisory and management level.
• Engineering skills include electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance desired.
• Good computer skills, understanding of controls networking.
• A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, adjust and repair automation devices, systems.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform preventative maintenance.
• Coach and mentor other automation technicians.
• Understand design intent of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Interface with installation or maintenance teams to execute modifications.
• Present technical information on building automation and controls.
