Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum eight (8) years of direct automation experience with control systems and programming required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
  • Working knowledge of at least three HVAC controls systems (Delta, JCI or Andover).
  • Ability to interface with customers at a supervisory and management level.
  • Engineering skills include electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance desired.
  • Good computer skills, understanding of controls networking.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, adjust and repair automation devices, systems.
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Coach and mentor other automation technicians.
  • Understand design intent of mechanical equipment and systems.

Job Summary

The Automation Technician III will inspect, test, adjust and repair new or existing electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic automation devices, and systems. It will also diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Automation Technician III will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring other automation technicians.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Understand the design and intent of mechanical equipment and systems (Chiller, Boiler, Custom AHU’s, Primary/Secondary pumping, Variable flow Chilled water plants, Clean Room Applications, Demand Response, and Energy solutions).
  • Analyze systems and develop scope of work for controls implementation.
  • Monitor, identify and diagnose potential problems using computer workstations and on-site observations.
  • Interface with the installation or maintenance team members to execute installations, repairs or modifications of controlled systems and equipment.
  • Give technical presentations on building automation, controls, and emerging technology.
  • Able to locate defective or non-operational components in new and existing systems, using test equipment and programming knowledge.
