Job summary

EMCOR Services Mesa Energy in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking an Automation Technician III to inspect, test, adjust and repair automation devices and systems. You will diagnose malfunctions, perform preventative maintenance, and mentor other technicians.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical or mechanical) or equivalent, 8+ years of direct automation experience, and experience with multiple HVAC control systems such as Delta, JCI or Andover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
• 8+ years automation experience with control systems and programming.
• Working knowledge of HVAC controls systems (Delta/JCI/Andover).
• Ability to interface with customers at supervisory/management level.

Responsibilities

• Understand design/intent of mechanical equipment and systems (Chillers, Boilers, AHUs, pumping, energy solutions).
• Analyze systems and develop scope of work for controls implementation.
• Monitor, diagnose potential problems using PCs and on-site observations.
• Interface with installation/maintenance teams to execute installations or modifications.
• Provide technical presentations on building automation and controls.
• Locate defective components using test equipment and programming knowledge.
