Job summary

Genentech is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for Process Automation Systems to lead end-to-end automation initiatives across manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse operations. You will own projects from planning through qualification, ensuring GMP compliance and digital manufacturing alignment.

The role requires 5+ years in automation within pharma/biotech, strong architecture design, and the ability to manage complex scope with global stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering with 5+ years of experience in pharma/biotech is required.
• Experience delivering automation architectures, project execution, commissioning and validation.
• Travel 50%+ is required for site and international assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, procurement, implementation, and qualification of process automation systems (DCS, PLC/SCADA, MES).
• Define global automation architectures and system concepts aligned with engineering standards.
• Coordinate integration with process equipment, robotics, packaging, and warehouse systems.
