Job summary
Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated is seeking a high-impact automation leader to develop cutting-edge manufacturing solutions for its Cell & Genetic Therapies programs. You will lead an interdisciplinary team, drive equipment qualification, technology transfer, and continuous improvement to deliver robust systems.
The role requires managing capital equipment across concept to deployment, collaborating with vendors and senior leadership, and addressing validation and quality system documentation
Qualifications
- Advanced degree with significant life sciences/manufacturing experience.
- Experience designing and deploying automated precision manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams through development, qualification and deployment.
- Familiarity with GMP, ISO, and quality-system documentation.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of equipment and automation engineers in design, deployment and qualification of custom automation equipment and OT systems for cell & gene therapies.
- Manage capital equipment development from concept through deployment and provide leadership to senior stakeholders.
- Oversee integration of automation with enterprise systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support CAPA, deviations, change control and investigations as Automation SME.
- Draft and review drawings, diagrams, manuals, protocols and validation documentation.
