Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated seeks a Director of Manufacturing Process & Technical Quality to provide Quality leadership across development through commercialization for Cell & Gene Therapies programs. The role ensures alignment with Vertex QMS, regulatory expectations, and strategic execution partnering with Development, Technical Operations, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in Quality, manufacturing, technical operations within biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
At least 3 years of leadership experience with cross-functional teams.
Experience supporting site/program leadership in CMC, R&D, or related areas.

Responsibilities

Provide end-to-end quality oversight from development through commercialization and lifecycle management.
Define phase-appropriate product, process, analytical, and control strategy expectations.
Lead quality readiness for process scale-up, technology transfer, PPQ, and launch activities.
Support health authority inspections and regulatory interactions with risk-based recommendations.
