Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Lead Mechanic to directly manage and develop a team of hourly associates in an Inspection Center. You will lead efforts to move inventory efficiently, meet production targets, and uphold Carvana’s quality standards.

Responsibilities include coaching the team, enforcing safety policies, and coordinating with the Center General Manager to repair or reject inventory based on cost and quality metrics. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience using computers
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
• Stand for extended periods; work in varied conditions

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of hourly associates in an Inspection Center
• Meet or exceed inventory production goals daily, weekly and monthly
• Coach and manage performance, provide feedback and development
• Ensure safety, adherence to policies and procedures
• Identify defects in inventory and decide repairs or rejection
• Train staff on Quality Control standards to minimize rework
• Communicate expectations and goals clearly to the team
• Maintain high-volume, high-quality output in a fast-paced environment
