Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking a Master Technician in Chapel Hill, NC. The role requires diagnosing drivability, air conditioning and electrical systems, with direct customer interaction to educate on problems and proposed solutions. This leadership position emphasizes mentoring and driving customer care and satisfaction.

You will perform repairs across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, and HVAC systems, while training junior technicians and maintaining shop standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 8+ ASE certifications preferred (A1–A8).
• Section 609 Certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake/hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension and air conditioning.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians; lead shop activities.
• Keep management informed of repair issues as they arise.
• Maintain organized, clean shop and adhere to safety policies.
