Job summary

Allstate is seeking a highly technical Lead Engineer, Authentication Engineering to lead the design, implementation, and advancement of enterprise authentication platforms. The role will supervise Managing Engineers and drive scalable, secure authentication services across on-prem and cloud environments.

The candidate will partner with Product Management, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Engineering, and AI teams to align with Zero Trust, IaC, and automation initiatives, while shaping strategy,

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Information Technology or Engineering experience with authentication, identity or security engineering accountabilities.
• 3+ years management experience.
• Experience leading enterprise large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Authentication Lead Product Manager for strategy, roadmaps, prioritization, and implementation of solutions.
• Lead the strategy, architecture, and engineering of enterprise authentication solutions, ensuring secure, seamless user experiences.
• Design, implement, and modernize authentication solutions including MFA, PKI, SSO, Privileged Access Management and vaulting to enable Zero Trust capabilities.
• Drive increased automation and Infrastructure as Code including test-driven development practices for validation and control testing.
• Lead large-scale authentication migrations and technology transformations, reducing user friction and increasing adoption.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, cloud, application, and AI teams to deliver scalable authentication services.
• Provide technical leadership and people development by coaching engineers and guiding engineering best practices.
• Influence clients and partners to adopt enterprise-grade authentication solutions and reference architectures.
• Strengthen security posture by addressing gaps identified via audits, tests, vulnerability scans, and threat modeling.
• Own reliability, resiliency, and operational excellence of authentication services with defined SLOs and observability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends and set engineering standards.
