Job summary

Alliance Orthopedics is seeking a Lead Physician Extender in Fair Lawn, NJ. The role supports physicians, manages administrative duties, and delivers patient care in a fast-paced setting.

You will handle PTO coverage, lead weekly meetings, and ensure proper DME distribution while maintaining privacy and accuracy in medical documentation. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in healthcare, a NJ ATC license, and a degree in Athletic Training.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Athletic Trainer (ATC) license is REQUIRED.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
• Degree from an accredited Athletic Training Education Program.
• Familiarity with coding procedures and clinical pharmacology.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle PTO requests and coverage for the PE/MA department.
• Lead Thursday morning PE meetings.
• Assist in distributing DME appropriately.
• Participate in bi-weekly billing calls to ensure timely billing.
• Communicate policy and procedure changes to the team.
• Onboard new hires in the PE/MA department.
• Serve as primary contact for PE/MA department queries.
• Ensure staffing levels meet departmental needs.
• Support patient retention with excellent service and responses.
• Collaborate with Clinical Director to coordinate orthopedic consultations.
• Record vital signs, history, test results with confidentiality.
• Conduct post-procedure follow-ups the day after procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure supplies and equipment readiness.
• Assist physicians during procedures and anticipate needs.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families.
• Maintain HIPAA and OSHA compliance for patient privacy and safety.
• Coordinate with Medical Team for patient questions and care continuity.
• Work with Location Supervisor on scheduling and calls to patients.
• Maintain presentation standards in evaluation rooms.
• Complete at least 10 Clinical Mentorships weekly in designated region.
• Review and track KPIs with teams weekly to improve performance.
• Monitor admin time usage across teams.
