Job summary

Alliance Orthopedics in Fair Lawn is seeking a Physician Extender Lead (Licensed Athletic Trainer) to support physicians, manage PE/MA operations, and mentor staff. You will partner with the Clinical Director to identify orthopedic patients for consultations and coordinate appointments, ensuring high-quality patient care and seamless team collaboration.

The role requires NJ ATC licensure, at least 2 years in healthcare, and strong EMR skills.

Qualifications

• New Jersey ATC license required.
• Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience.
• Degree from an accredited Athletic Training Education Program.

Responsibilities

• Handle PTO requests and coverage for PE/MA department.
• Lead Thursday morning PE meetings.
• Assist in distributing DME and monitoring equipment.
• Participate in bi-weekly billing calls and ensure timely billing.
• Maintain awareness of policy and procedure changes.
• Assist onboarding of new PE/MA hires.
• Serve as contact for PE/MA department questions.
• Ensure adequate staffing and role execution by the team.
• Support patient retention with excellent service and responses.
• Coordinate with Clinical Director on orthopedic patient referrals.
• Record vital signs, medical history, tests, and maintain confidentiality.
• Conduct post-procedure follow-up for patient recovery.
• Prepare treatment rooms with supplies and equipment.
• Assist physicians during procedures and anticipate needs.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families.
• Ensure HIPAA/ OSHA compliance and patient privacy.
• Coordinate with Medical Team for patient information requests.
• Partner with Location Supervisor on scheduling and calls.
• Maintain presentation standards of evaluation rooms.
• Complete ≥10 Clinical Mentorships weekly in the region.
• Review KPIs weekly and drive performance improvements.
• Monitor admin time usage across teams.
