Job summary

Alliance Orthopedics in Bloomfield, NJ seeks a Physician Extender to join our multidisciplinary sports medicine team. You will work beside medical doctors, orthopedic surgeons, and therapists to coordinate care and support patients throughout their treatment plans.

The ideal candidate holds a New Jersey Athletic Trainer license, with strong interpersonal skills, clinical knowledge, and EMR familiarity. On-site, collaborative environment with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Athletic Trainer license.
• Degree from an accredited Athletic Training Education Program.
• Understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, and clinical pharmacology for scope of practice.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
• Willingness to challenge patients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with patients and understand their goals.
• Medical care coordination and obtain clinical history.
• Organize physician schedules, notes, imaging studies, and care plans.
• Record vitals, test results, progress notes, and maintain confidentiality.
• Serve as liaison between physician and patient with support and encouragement.
• Conduct post-procedure follow-up the next day.
• Facilitate distribution of durable medical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and other healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with Clinic Supervisor on administrative duties.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to help patients get better.
