Job summary

Bard College seeks an Assistive Technology Specialist to lead the Disability and Access Services team in creating accessible course materials and improving web accessibility. The role requires collaboration with faculty, library staff, and Educational Technology Services to implement remediation and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in digital accessibility, remediation, and documentation creation.

Responsibilities

• Manage in-house document remediation and alternate format process.
• Hire, supervise, and train student workers in document remediation.
• Provide individual assessment of student need for Assistive Technology; train faculty and staff in assistive tech and accessible materials.
• Advise campus stakeholders on web accessibility requirements (ADA, Section 504, WCAG 2.1).
• Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and FERPA; maintain database software (Symplicity Accommodate).
• Build relationships with faculty, staff, and students; collaborate with Library and Educational Technology Services.
