Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Assembly Technician for the SPARC project. You will oversee small technician teams, coordinate daily work orders, and ensure precise mechanical integration of large components on site.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, metrology, quality, and other teams to keep builds on schedule and ensure safety. The role requires 7+ years in a technical assembly role, experience leading teams, knowledge of rigging, vacuum systems, and metrology tools, and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
7+ years in a highly technical assembly role.
3+ years leading a team of ten or more.
Experience completing large scale projects end to end.
Experience with rigging and lifting best practices.
Knowledge of vacuum systems and clean room best practices.
Willingness to travel nights/weekends/on-call.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day activity management and coordination of technician teams per the schedule.
Review of work orders across mechanical, welding, electrical, and lifting tasks.
Participation in major on-site operations and important component lifts.
Inspection buy-off for tasks completed by technician teams.
Daily status updates to the Assembly team on progress and completed work.
Assign technicians to operations based on priorities.
Coordinate with external teams and ensure efficient completion of work.
Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement workarounds as needed.
