Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks a Lead Technician on the Assembly Team to oversee technician groups and manage all assembly activities for the SPARC tokamak. You will handle, align, and integrate large components, coordinating with engineers, metrology, and quality teams to ensure precise delivery on schedule.

You will guide day-to-day work, assign teams, and troubleshoot issues, while maintaining safety and adapting to shifting priorities to meet milestones in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in a highly technical assembly role.
• Experience overseeing a team of five or more.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day activity management and coordination of technician teams to complete assembly operations per schedule.
• Review work orders across mechanical, welding, electrical, and lifting tasks.
• Participate in major on-site operations including heavy component lifts.
• Inspect work completed by technician teams (visual confirmation).
• Provide daily status updates to Assembly team and adjust assignments to meet priorities.
• Coordinate with external teams arriving for specialized sections of SPARC assembly.
