Job summary

Insight Global in Toledo, OH is seeking an Assembly Process Engineer for a 1-year contract to coordinate installation, debugging, and PPAP of assembly equipment for the automatic transmission program.

You will work with process engineers, construction team, local safety, focus factory engineers, and the launch team to coordinate the installation, debug, runoff, PPAP, and Launch Deliverables completion for these programs at the Toledo site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
• 5+ years supporting assembly processes in engine or transmission manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with production assembly operations on the plant floor.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly/testing of automatic transmissions.
• Experience with troubleshooting production equipment and working with OEMs.
• Familiarity with LOTO, G-Comply, and manufacturing safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate installation, debug, and PPAP for assembly equipment in the transmission program.
• Collaborate with process engineers, construction, safety, focus factory, and launch teams.
• Lead PPAP activities, including planning, timing, and equipment qualification.
• Create runoff plans and track progress through runoff meetings.
• Validate PFMEAs and update as needed.
• Coordinate with OEMs and contractors on installation, commissioning, and startup.
• Provide hands-on plant-floor support for installation and readiness activities.
• Track issues, milestones, and reporting to leadership.
• Maintain installation tracking boards and run reviews with OEMs/contractors.
• Support qualification/validation to meet customer and production requirements.
• Drive lessons learned and communicate improvements to Process Engineering.
• Ensure all processes/equipment meet quality and production standards.
