Job summary

Terrestris Global Solutions seeks a Principal Instructor to lead the ASEP‑T program, preparing retiring U.S. Army General Officers and spouses to transition to civilian roles. You will deliver curriculum, supervise online and in‑person sessions, and mentor participants through career planning and branding.

The role emphasizes experiential learning, individual counseling, and collaboration with the Course Director to continually improve content, leveraging AI tools and career services expertise.

Qualifications

• U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.
• Ability to pass background checks for Army installation access; no security clearance required.
• PhD in Business Administration, Human Performance Measurement and Evaluation, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Counseling, Management, or related field.
• Honorable U.S. Army service at General/Flag Officer level within the last 15 years, including at least ten years of active‑duty service at O-4 or above within the last 20 years.
• Three or more years of experience as a senior executive in a publicly or privately held corporation, or inside government.
• Three or more years of experience providing executive transition counseling, or serving as an executive career services officer/coach.
• Three or more years of experience working directly with U.S. Army General Officers and senior executives in a publicly or privately held corporation.
• Three or more years of experience counseling U.S. Army General Officers and senior corporate executives on out‑placement services.
• Experience within the last three years developing professional transition plans, development plans, and executive course curricula or training plans for General Officers.
• Current Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) certification or other related professional certification.
• Ability to travel within CONUS, including to the National Capital Region for in‑person courses.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructor for five five‑day ASEP‑T courses per year for up to 18 General Officers in person or 22 online, plus their spouses.
• Develop and maintain a current, modular curriculum adaptable to face-to-face and online delivery (e.g., Zoom, Teams) that meets VOW Act, TAP, Soldier for Life, and Department of Labor requirements.
• Present a five‑to‑ten‑year vision of the executive landscape that helps General Officers determine where they best fit as executive leaders.
• Guide participants in building individual transition plans, including pre‑separation timelines, realistic career goals, interest/aptitude assessments, and translation of military experience into civilian terms.
• Instruct on resumes/CVs and cover letters, networking plans, LinkedIn and social media, job search methods, personal branding, interviewing, civilian salary scales and negotiation, public and non‑profit opportunities, and legal and ethical constraints unique to retiring General Officers.
• Facilitate experiential exercises, including internet- and AI‑enabled exercises, resume building, mock interviews, and mock offer negotiations.
• Conduct individual counseling sessions with each participant (and spouse, as applicable), including in‑depth resume critiques, transition plan feedback, strengths assessments, and networking plan reviews.
• Help design and deliver an integrated spouse curriculum with spouse‑specific break‑out sessions.
• Coordinate a Day 2 no‑host networking event featuring at least three recently retired General Officers.
• Deliver the annual one‑day Introductory Transition Module for up to 200 students at the Senior Leader Development Seminar.
• Deliver up to eight customized four‑hour Four‑Star Executive Sessions per year, in person or virtually.
• Provide up to two hours of follow‑on coaching per participant for up to 90 days after retirement.
• Develop pre‑course surveys, high‑performance assessments, course evaluations, and course outlines; participate in after action reviews and contribute to post‑course, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Coordinate guest speakers on topics such as VA benefits, ethics, and financial and estate planning (retirement pay, TSP, SBP, Post‑9/11 GI Bill, VA disability, and Social Security).
