Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a climbing arborist crew leader to direct a field crew and manage daily on-site tasks. The role emphasizes safety, hands-on tree care, and mentoring newer crew members, with opportunities for advancement in a large employee-owned organization.

You will lead pruning, cabling, removal, and other arboricultural tasks using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems, while maintaining equipment and upholding Davey safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses and certificates
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew safely to provide arboricultural care for clients.
• Follow Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process.
• Prune, thin and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and aerial lifts.
