Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Lead Application Developer in Nashville to contribute to a growing portfolio of software projects within the Transportation & Water Team. You will independently deliver features, mentor teammates, and coordinate day-to-day tasks while collaborating with hydrologic modelers, data scientists, and engineers.

The role emphasizes C#/ASP.NET (MVC/Core), SQL Server, and React.js, with a focus on innovative water resources solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software development.
• B.S. or B.A. from an accredited university is a plus.
• Demonstrated ownership of tasks/features and ability to drive to completion.
• Experience contributing to application and system design.
• Experience with C#, ASP.NET (MVC/Core), React.js, and Entity Framework.
• Experience with database development and performance (SQL Server, SQLite).
• Familiarity with SOLID and other design principles is desired.
• Interest in learning new technologies, including AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers application features in collaboration with project team members and stakeholders.
• Participates in technical planning with guidance from senior staff.
• Provides task-level leadership by owning small features/tasks and coordinating day-to-day execution.
• Contributes to code reviews and enforces coding standards.
• Mentors junior developers and interns on assigned tasks.
• Collaborates with cross-functional partners to clarify requirements and communicate tradeoffs.
• Helps document solutions and supports knowledge sharing.
