Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support an expanding inpatient hematology service at CUH and Zale Lipshy Pavilion. This role blends direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, mentoring APPs and guiding program growth.

The position is roughly 80% clinical and 20% administrative, with schedule of four 10-hour shifts and seven-day coverage. Prior leadership and sickle cell/hematology experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant licensure in Texas.
• Minimum of three years of APP experience in relevant field.
• Experience with sickle cell disease, hematology, oncology, or medically complex patients.
• ACLS certification as per UT Southwestern policy.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages APP coverage schedules for inpatient and outpatient teams.
• Conducts annual performance evaluations of APP staff with leadership.
• Review safety events and quality indicators related to APP practice.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives within the APP program.
• Provide diagnostic and therapeutic management within scope of practice.
