Job summary

University of Washington in Seattle is seeking an Anesthesia Technician Lead to coordinate daily flow of services across anesthesia locations and to supervise technicians, equipment, and supplies. The role includes staffing oversight and contributing to policy development.

The Lead works with the Manager and participates in performance coaching, recruitment, and staff development. Evening shift, full-time position at UW Medical Center-Northwest.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Biomedical Electronics or related science.
• Minimum two years postsecondary science training plus two years as Anesthesiology Technician II or equivalent.
• Alternatively, three years of experience as Anesthesiology Technician II or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities and services at all Anesthesia locations.
• Work with Manager to develop policies and procedures.
• Assist in quality assurance programs as directed by Manager.
• Perform as Anesthesiology Technician II as required and directed by Manager.
• Ensure appropriate staffing on the floor.
• Schedule assignments and breaks for the Anesthesia team, creating staffing/scheduling grids as directed by Manager.
• Coach other Anesthesia Technicians on performance; escalate situations to Manager when needed.
• Assist in recruitment and evaluation of Anesthesiology Technicians.
• Lead staff development, training, new employee orientation, as directed by Manager.

Education

Associate of Arts Degree in Biomedical Electronics

Two years of postsecondary education/training with emphasis in the sciences and two years of experience as an Anesthesiology Technician II or equivalent

Three years of experience as an Anesthesiology Technician II or equivalent
