Job summary

Rogo is building a native Android app from ground up in a high-growth AI-focused finance company. As Lead Android Engineer, you will own architecture, technology choices, testing standards, security, and release processes while partnering with product and design to ship an exceptional mobile experience.

You’ll translate our AI platform into polished workflows for professional users and lay the foundations for an Android engineering team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Track record of building and launching high-quality Android apps.
• Strong command of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and the Android SDK.
• Experience making foundational architecture and technology decisions.
• Deep understanding of Android architecture, lifecycle management, and platform conventions.
• Experience with Kotlin coroutines, Flow, concurrency, threading, and performance optimization.
• Strong product judgment and a passion for polished, intuitive UX.
• Experience designing reusable, testable components and maintainable architecture.

Responsibilities

• Build and launch the first version of Rogo’s native Android application.
• Define the application's architecture, stack, and core engineering patterns.
• Establish testing, security, performance, observability, releases, and code quality standards.
• Partner with product and design to shape AI-native mobile workflows.
• Own major features end-to-end from research through launch and iteration.
• Create smooth, stable experiences across the Android ecosystem.
• Integrate Rogo’s AI platform and backend services into a native experience.
• Develop reusable foundations to scale the app and future Android team.
• Collaborate with customers and Customer Success to incorporate feedback.
• Help hire, mentor, and set the technical bar for future Android engineers.
