Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Team Lead to own core Android product work and shape how the team works around it. This is a hands-on role, and you’ll be writing code, reviewing code, and owning features from design through release.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering, ensuring reliable releases and mentoring engineers, including those early in their careers. You’ll lead features end to end, improve testing, and drive automated checks, while moving fast in a distributed, remote-first

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with team leadership or ownership of major features.
• Expertise in Kotlin, Coroutines, Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, and Android UI.
• Experience shipping long-running background work and robust tests.
• Proven ability to influence team practices and drive impact beyond speed.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from design through release with design input.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and drive decisions that affect the entire stack.
• Lead planning and balance reviews to optimize delivery.
