Job summary

RxSight is seeking a Senior Scientist, Analytical Chemistry in Aliso Viejo, CA to lead chemical characterization of the Light Adjustable Lens and other implantable ophthalmic devices. This laboratory-based role develops, executes, and interprets analytical methods to support product development, verification, compliance, and troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will collaborate with materials scientists, engineers, QC, and Regulatory Affairs, while mentoring junior staff and authoring

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or Materials Science with substantial analytical training.
• 3+ years of industrial analytical chemistry experience in regulated environments.
• Experience applying analytical methods to polymeric or biomaterial systems.
• Experience with extractables/leachables, stability studies, method validation.
• Experience FDA/ISO regulatory expectations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, transfer analytical methods supporting product development and regulatory submissions.
• Perform GC-MS, GC-FID, headspace GC, HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, GPC/SEC, FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis analyses.
• Lead chemical characterization of materials and finished devices, including extractables/leachables.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, and external labs to investigate performance and issues.
• Mentor junior staff and author analytical reports and regulatory documentation.
• Evaluate new analytical technologies and maintain quality compliance.
